This past Sunday, Manatee Island Bar & Grille employee Chris Moore posed a challenge to the patrons and employees of the bar who kidded him about the length of his hair. Patrons could place donations in one bucket to support Chris shaving his head or in another that supported him keeping his hair. The bucket with the most money would decide the fate of his curls.
Chris is the son of a past Big Brothers Big Sisters President and wanted to donate to the kids. Between the two buckets, $2,637 was raised for mentoring programs in Martin County! There was approximately twelve hundred for saving the hair and fourteen hundred to shave it off. What a great contribution generated by Chris Moore and supported by the patrons and team of Manatee Island. This was an awesome Thanksgiving surprise for Big Brothers Big Sisters and the children we serve in Martin County.
