February 19, 2020 — The Jim Moran Foundation recently awarded Big Brothers Big Sisters of Palm Beach and Martin Counties, Inc. $80,000 for the “School to Work” Program. The continued partnership with The Jim Moran Foundation enables Palm Beach County youth to receive this valuable opportunity.
Over the next two years, The Jim Moran Foundation grant will allow more than 55 youth to participate in this unique career exploration and mentoring program that offers real life skills, such as: resume writing, interviewing skills, basic computer skills, finance/budgeting, job search strategies, teambuilding and leadership skills. Interactive workshop lessons are taught by local business guest speakers who volunteer their time to teach the next generation vital career skills. The program will prepare youth for college, the workforce and beyond. While participating in the program, youth will be matched with a business mentor, take college tours and set goals for their future. Because of The Jim Moran Foundation’s commitment to their education, Palm Beach County high school students are expanding their worldview. These empowered youth are gaining a sense of purpose and vision to reach their brightest potential.
